Overview
Step away from the crowds. Wander Kyoto's lesser-known neighbourhoods, reflect in Hiroshima, island-hop to Miyajima, and unwind in Hakone's hot springs.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 — Kyoto Welcome
Arrive and check into a traditional inn. Walk along the Kamo River at dusk — couples on the banks, herons in the shallows.
Day 2 — Kyoto's Quieter Side
Spend the day visiting moss-covered temples and residential neighbourhoods tourists rarely reach — a different rhythm entirely.
Day 3 — Gardens, Tea & Craft
Morning in a raked-stone Zen garden, followed by a private tea preparation in a wooden room overlooking a courtyard.
Day 4 — Onward to Hiroshima
Take the train west. Spend the afternoon walking the tree-lined paths of Peace Memorial Park and its museum.
Day 5 — Miyajima by Ferry
Cross to the island on a short ferry. Walk the shore at low tide near the shrine gate, then follow a forest trail uphill.
Day 6 — East to Hakone
Travel to the wooded hills of Hakone — on a clear day, Fuji fills the horizon beyond the lake.
Day 7 — Lake, Ropeway & Onsen
Glide across Lake Ashi by boat, ride the aerial ropeway over steaming valleys, and close the day in an open-air hot spring.
Day 8 — Morning Mist & Home
One last look at the mountain mist before packing up. A calm end to an unhurried week.
