Day 3 — Heritage & Gardens
Walk the wide gravel paths of the Imperial Palace East Gardens, visit Senso-ji at a quieter hour, and end at Meiji Shrine's forest.
Day 4 — Into the Mountains
Board a train heading inland. Watch the scenery shift from suburbs to river valleys and forested ridges in the Japanese Alps.
Day 5 — Takayama Morning Market
Browse stalls of pickles, crafts, and Hida beef skewers along the river, then stroll the wooden merchant streets from the Edo period.
Day 6 — Kanazawa Gardens & Lanes
Wander Kenroku-en garden at your own pace, peek into a samurai residence, and explore the narrow teahouse district.
Day 7 — Kyoto at Dusk
Arrive in the old capital. Spend your first evening walking Gion's lantern-lit streets as the wooden townhouses glow softly.
Day 8 — Hillside Shrines & Gold
Climb through the vermillion gates of Fushimi Inari in the morning cool, then visit golden Kinkaku-ji reflected in its pond.
Day 9 — Nara Day Out
An easy train ride to parkland filled with deer. Step inside Todai-ji's enormous hall and walk the lantern paths of Kasuga shrine.
Day 10 — Hiroshima Reflections
A thoughtful morning in Peace Memorial Park, then lunch at a local counter serving layered Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki.
Day 11 — Miyajima Trails
Ferry to the island, walk along the shore at low tide, and hike through the forest toward the summit of Mount Misen.
Day 12 — Hello Osaka
Arrive in Osaka and spend the afternoon in the castle park before the evening lights of the canal-side food quarter come alive.
Day 13 — A Day of Eating
From a neighbourhood sushi counter at breakfast to a standing ramen bar at night — today is devoted entirely to Osaka's food culture.
Day 14 — Final Morning
A slow breakfast, a last wander through a leafy Osaka neighbourhood, and off to the airport carrying two weeks of memories.
